The foundational umbrella providing holistic support and creative platforms necessary to preserve global culture. Integrating cultural preservation, creative expression, and holistic community support so our communities remain inherently resilient, rooted, and strong.
Carbon-neutral disaster response for vulnerable coastal communities. Using sailboats to deliver life-saving aid, emergency solar power, and clean water— restoring energy autonomy without relying on fragile, carbon-intensive infrastructure.
Building long-term resilience through local food sovereignty. Our USDA Organic farm in Vieques uses regenerative agriculture to heal the land, reduce dependency on global supply chains, and feed our communities sustainably.
We believe that true community resilience cannot be built in isolation.
A society's strength is found at the intersection of its culture, its food systems, and its ability to withstand environmental crises.
Founded in 2016 as a grassroots art collective, our organization has evolved into a multifaceted 501(c)(3) nonprofit ecosystem that bridges the gap between creative expression, rural development, and emergency response.
Our foundational work through Community Through Colors utilizes public art installations and murals to preserve and celebrate Puerto Rican culture.
By fostering cultural awareness and healing through creative expression, we ensure that as communities rebuild, they do so with a restored sense of pride and collective identity.
We view public art as an essential tool for social cohesion—the “social glue” that maintains community bonds during times of transition.
Recognizing the physical vulnerabilities of the Caribbean and Gulf Coast, our Sail Relief Team provides specialized hurricane relief and emergency services.
By utilizing sailboats, we deliver life-saving aid, including search and rescue, emergency radios, and clean drinking water solutions, without relying on damaged or carbon-intensive infrastructure.
Our focus on emergency solar power ensures that marginalized coastal communities regain communication and energy autonomy immediately following a disaster.
Long-term resilience is impossible without a secure and local food supply.
La Finca de Hamberto, located on the island of Vieques, serves as our hub for agroecology and sustainable farming.
As a USDA Organic operation, the farm utilizes regenerative farming techniques, such as silvopasture and restoration agriculture, to heal the land while feeding the people.
By championing a circular economy and teaching sustainable farming practices, we are reducing dependency on fragile global supply chains and fostering ecological biodiversity.
Whether we are installing solar power on a remote shoreline, planting a harvest in Vieques, or painting a mural that honors our heritage,
we are working as a single entity.
For our donors and grant partners, this integrated approach ensures that resources are utilized efficiently across a spectrum of needs.
We aren’t just providing aid; we are cultivating sustainable food systems, protecting Puerto Rican culture,
and building a model of self-sufficiency that can be replicated across the globe.
Community Through Colors (CTC) was founded in 2016 as a mobile art exchange with the mission to spread hope and awareness by using art to reflect the similarities between all humans, despite geographical or cultural location.
